D&K Home Products parent company of Weather Whipper brand of awnings has been providing quality residential and commercial maintenance-free aluminum products since 1968.  From our humble beginnings in the late 60’s our founder, Dave Shope started a resell awning business.  As a full time Warrant Officer in the Iowa National Guard he began his business in his spare time, weekends and evenings.  He began to grow his business by adding patio covers and screen enclosures, moving now to a small office in downtown Davenport.  He then retired from the National Guard and began to focus on the growth of his business from reselling his products to fabricating.  In his growth, he was able to build a building to allow for larger fabrication.  There he acquired Weather Whipper brand of awnings and began fabricating awning parts for  Fairlite awnings.  Now his fabricating and manufacturing of aluminum awnings was in full swing. 

A family owned business, Dave, still active in the business, has been passing on his knowledge and business to his son-in-law, Jim Tucker and grandson, Trevor Tucker.  Together they are carrying on the business in quality products, of awnings, patio covers, screen enclosures and sunrooms.
